This endeavor seems to reflect an era fondly remembered, encapsulated by the group through their remake, infusing a touch of pop nostalgia within a modern context.

Ekaterina Ivanchikova, Iowa's vocalist, provided deeper insights into the band's approach and mindset behind this project.

Drawing from their previous tributes to revered poets, Ivanchikova stressed the importance of delicacy when reinterpreting well-established cultural works.

She highlighted the challenge inherent in altering such classics, emphasizing the need for a respectful approach that acknowledges the enduring perception and significance of these timeless compositions.

Ivanchikova made a poignant observation about Iowa's musical identity in comparison to Irina Allegrova's, acknowledging the stark differences between their styles.

Instead of aiming to surpass the original, Iowa opted for a fresh, distinct perspective. Ivanchikova commended the band's sound, citing influences from a diverse array of artists such as Muse, Lady Gaga, and One Republic, yet retaining a distinct Iowa essence.

Despite initially emerging in 2012 with a more contemporary approach, Iowa's recent nostalgic journey into the '90s music scene represents a different facet of the band.

Ivanchikova confessed to being influenced by "Guests from the Future" during her upbringing, admitting initial difficulty in envisioning a cover of Allegrova's songs.

However, their cover subtly weaves in elements of Iowa's own tracks, a detail acknowledged and appreciated by Igor Nikolaev, the original songwriter.

Iowa's musical trajectory has been diverse, experimenting with alternative rock, acoustics, dance hits, and meme songs like "Marshrutka."

The band's leader highlighted the inherent risk in chasing musical trends and the pitfalls of imitating popular tracks, emphasizing Iowa's steadfast commitment to authenticity and originality over immediate commercial success.

Beyond the '90s cover, Iowa recently introduced an EP titled "Cassiopeia," featuring tracks crafted deliberately outside the bounds of prevailing music trends.

Despite initial reservations, their song "A Million Ways" gained substantial traction, resonating deeply with audiences through its viral video content.

The surprising success of this track took the band by surprise, proving its unexpected appeal and connection with listeners.

Approaching their imminent fifteenth anniversary, Iowa remains cognizant of the evolving music landscape and technological advancements.

Ivanchikova expressed contentment with the band's diverse audience, highlighting the futility of stressing over musical direction.

Instead, the band embraces a more relaxed, philosophical stance, steering away from excessive self-concern in their musical journey and allowing their creative path to unfold naturally.
